Michael was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He moved to Los Angeles to act and do stand-up comedy. He became an English teacher to help support his stay in Los Angeles and his passion for the arts.
While teaching, Michael wrote and directed the short films, "Strawberry’s Letter," "Swap" and "22 Days." Michael has also written feature film scripts. "Teaching," Michael says, "is the most important job in the world. Screenwriting and Directing is a blast!"
"I like to write films about people, the choices they make and the journeys they take, sharing in the comedy and drama we all face." Michael has a Bachelors Degree in Cinema and a Masters Degree in Education.
